Dubai police have announced the arrest of an Arab national behind the killing of Lebanese singing sensation Suzan Tamim.
“We have identified the murderer and we have arrested him,” a senior Dubai police official said on Sunday.
However, the suspect was not named.
“We knew him five hours after crime was discovered.”
The suspect was arrested a “few days ago in another Arab country” with Interpol’s co-operation, an officer said without giving further details.
Police gave scant details in a press conference on Sunday announcing the arrest of the suspect “in another Arab country”.
The 39-year-old suspect wore two layers of clothes when he carried out the grisly murder at the Jumeirah Beach Residence Rimal Tower 1 late July, he said.
While the murder proved to be almost perfect, the suspect made “some mistakes in carrying out his crime” which led to his identification, the police said.
“We think from the evidence that within 12 minutes, it was all over,” said the officer.
Police said the suspect flew out of Dubai an hour-and-a-half following the crime.
Investigators didn’t reveal the motive for the killing, but an official said it may be due to revenge.
