Reality check: Akshay turns TV host

BM

After Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan, it’s Akshay Kumar’s turn to make his presence felt on the small screen. The busy star will host the Indian version of the reality TV show Fear Factor.

But it’s obviously not just the thrill of making an appearance on the small screen that attracted the actor. The money being offered could have made Akshay agree to take up the offer. This lucrative deal will make him richer by Rs15 million (Dh1.38 million).

The show, which will be launched on the entertainment channel Viacom 18, could also see the participation of several Bollywood stars, including Neha Dhupia.

Akshay has some experience with action shows, having hosted a martial arts show titled Seven Deadly Arts for National Geographic four years ago.

With this offer, Akshay may go on to rake in much more than what Amitabh and Shah Rukh did for hosting the TV show Kaun Banega Crorepati.
