Marital spat: Chinks in Abhi-Ash marriage

Tinseltown’s picture-perfect couple created a scene as they fought publicly during the recent IIFA awards ceremony in Bangkok.

Things got out of hand quickly and an infuriated Abhishek had to call for security to whisk his wife away.

The Abhishek-Aishwarya marriage is on the rocks. The couple have not been getting along well lately. But it was at the recent IIFA awards in Bangkok when the simmering tension between them erupted into a major spat and that too in full public view.

At one stage, things got so embarrassingly out of control that Abhishek had to seek the help of his bodyguards to whisk Ash to her hotel room.

The incident took place at the lobby of the Dusit Thani Hotel where the Bachchans were staying. Just as the couple were heading for the awards ceremony, Ash started laughing wildly, much to Abhishek’s embarrassment. At first he tried to calm her down, but Ash, who appeared high-spirited was in no mood to listen or reason.

When Abhishek rebuked her, she got infuriated and yelled back, prompting a heated banter. Eventually, Abhishek had to call for his security and Ash was escorted to her room. But the fight didn’t end there. The arguments continued for a long time and the loud exchanges could be heard outside their room.

Coming weeks after their first wedding anniversary, the episode has dealt a severe blow to the couple’s happily married image. Is it just an one-off incident or the beginning of the end?
