The works of prominent Indian, Pakistani, European and Arab artists is currently on display at the Al Ameera Ballroom of the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Dubai.
Almost 60 paintings by 32 artists selected and arranged by Kanika Subberwal and S. Shankar Memon are exhibited aesthetically in a nuance of colours and styles that literally leap Across Boundaries.
The show was opened Sunday evening by the Ambassador of India to the UAE Talmiz Ahmad. Guests included both lovers and buyers of art a reminder that Dubai has slowly positioned itself as a centre for art and culture without national and international boundaries.
Celebrated artist M F Husain’s 1960 Circa Series oil on board is quite a rarity among the other colourful paintings that depict life in every shade and hue.
From pain to joy, the angst of an expectant woman, the deep hues of Angelika Keller Fulton’s abstract and the pale tones of Akbar Padamsee’s portrait come together in harmony for an evening of wondrous viewing and buying if your pockets are deep.
