Dutchess aka Fergie delighted audiences at her first solo concert at Dubai Media City on November 14.
The turnout had teenagers in large numbers but they were not enough to fill up the venue. The platinum and gold sections were half empty.
Coming on stage 30 minutes late, the 33-year-old member of the Black Eyes Peas, started the session with the song London Bridge, dressed in a funky purple and yellow summer dress with knee-high black boots.
Besides favourites like Clumsy, Mary Jane Shoes, Glamorous and Fergalicious, the set list also included Voodoo Doll, which saw the star recounting her past addiction.
The other number that really went down well and had the crowds singing along with her was Big Girls Don’t Cry.
A troupe of dancers wearing colourful, catchy outfits, including red bearskin British guard uniforms, livened up the show when Fergie went backstage to change.
The band also performed solos on saxophone, trumpet, guitar, keyboards and drums. But before long, Fergie came back on stage in tight black leather pants, a black T-shirt and a short green jacket for a cover version of the Rolling Stones’ number Start Me Up.
The singer also belted out some of her Black Eyed Peas’ hits including My Humps, Where is the Love and Don’t Phunk With My Heart.
