Legend of metal rock, Iron Maiden, will begin the last leg of their world tour Somewhere Back in Time on Friday, February 13, at Dubai Media City.
The event is a re-creation of Maiden’s Eighties World Slavery tour, which had a stage designed with an Ancient Egyptian theme. And rock fans can expect the band to include hits songs from the ’80s album like Power Slave, The Number of the Beast, Piece of Mind, Somewhere in Time, Seventh Son of a Seventh Son and Fear of the Dark.
Fronted by Bruce Dickinson, Iron Maiden delivered a power-packed session when they performed last in Dubai in March 2007.
“Playing to our fans in so many different countries earlier was an incredible experience for all of us. We had so much fun that we decided to do it again as a final leg of this tour and where better to start off than in Dubai. All in all this will be a fantastic way to round off a tremendous year for the band before we take a bit of time off and then start work on a new studio album,” said Dickinson.
Talking about what the crowds can expect to hear at the show he said,”Our set list will be a bit different; we will include songs from the first four albums. This tour is likely to be the last time we play many of these songs live so we really will be giving it everything we have got.”
The tour which begins early February will also see the band make their first appearance in New Zealand in 16 years. Besides the UAE the other major countries listed in the tour are India, Mexico and Latin America.
“We had a terrific time when we performed in a couple of years ago in Dubai and we all thought that the city would be a great place to begin the last leg of our tour,” said Steve Harris, founding member of band.
Iron Maiden have made arrangements with AEG Live Middle East for a special fan club first ticket pre-sale to ensure that Middle East and international members of their club can be guaranteed a ticket.
