Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street

By Rajeev Kheror

Set in 19th-century London, Sweeney Todd (Johnny Depp, who just might win the Oscar for this one) was once Benjamin Barker – a young barber who doted on his wife Lucy and baby daughter.

Lucy’s beauty attracts sinister Judge Turpin (Alan Rickman) and, in order to make off with her, he gets Benjamin locked up on false charges.

No Country for Old Men: Ahead of your regular thriller

Rajeev Kheror

The Cohen brothers present a masterly crime drama in true Fargo style

An adaptation of Cormac McCarthy’s novel about a drug deal gone wrong and its violent aftermath, No Country for Old Men is clearly one of the best movies in recent times.

Llewelyn Moss (Josh Brolin), a hunter, stumbles upon $2 million in a briefcase, the remains of a Mexican drug deal.
