Krazzy4: Slapdash and substandardRajeev Kheror |
It’s an out and out copy of the 1989 Hollywood comedy The Dream Team, but Rakesh Roshan’s Krazzy4 does little to live up to the original.
Same plot, similar characters but the screenplay leaves much to be desired. Even the songs appear out of nowhere and are just thrust upon you.
The only saving grace of debutant director Jaideep Sen’s movie are Irrfan Khan and Rajpal Yadav, who keep the audience entertained with their comic capers.
The movie revolves around psychiatrist Dr Suman (Juhi Chawla) who takes four of her patients to see a cricket match as part of a therapy programme. Raja (Arshad Warsi) has an anger management problem, Gangadhar (Rajpal Yadav) is a schizophrenic, Dr Mookerjee (Irrfan Khan) has obsessive compulsive behaviour disorder and Daboo (Suresh Menon) suffers from a psychologically-induced mute problem.
On the way to the match, Dr Suman is kidnapped and the ‘crazy’ foursome are now left with the challenge of trying to find her which, given the state of their minds, is not going to be easy.
The plot has its twists and turns with the kidnap drama being played out in full. But the story lacks depth.
The movie is doomed and nothing, not even the much-hyped item songs featuring Shah Rukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan and Rakhi Sawant, can save it.
