Ring Around Many LifetimesBy Nirmala Janssen, Editor |
As someone who firmly believes in the maxim "what goes around comes around", I’m a little (if not very) careful that I should not be a bad person.
No, I won’t say I’m as pure as driven snow, but at the same time I am terrified that people who perceive that they have been slighted or offended by me, come back to haunt me while I sleep.
Then comes along this old/new fad called Past Life Regression Therapy (PLRT). Some psychologists swear that visiting your previous lives under the care of a skilled therapist brings better understanding of why one behaves the way one behaves and helps one set it straight.

If I forget all my negative experiences and remember only the positive ones what kind of an unprotected life would I be leading? |

Now, say you believe that the soul lives on forever and I guess you will be looking for answers from the past. However, if you do not believe that the soul reincarnates in a different form in each life that you have lived, then like me you are bound to be troubled by the very thought of revisiting your past.
Although I firmly believe in the freedom to choose one’s beliefs, I feel that with my current life already so complicated with a million perceived negative associations, do I really want to regress to my previous lives and bring back with me the three million perceived negative associations I’ve had before?
To put it simply: Collective Unconscious plus Collective Conscious equals Disaster.
However, I have found myself getting interested in Time Line Therapy for a short while. In this kind of therapy you get rid of all the memories of old negative associations and experiences and live a fulfilled, happy life with only dreams and aspirations.
Which brings me around to the intensely uncomfortable feeling that if I forget all my negative experiences and remember only the positive ones what kind of an unprotected life would I be leading?
See, while I forget, the others who perceived that I was bad to them won’t.
And I bet you they will come back and haunt me in my waking hours.
