Most residents like to go on holiday during the summer because their children are on vacation during this period.
While some of them can do so, others are unable to avail themselves of the summer holidays either due to family engagements or pressure from the office.
Many residents who want to go on holiday during summer face an immense problem regarding their pets.
By and large, pets are accustomed to the people who handle them.
The first hurdle is leaving the pet in friends’ houses. Some pets might not like the new owner, who might not have sufficient time to take care of these pets.
The easiest option is to leave pets with pet day care centres or veterinary care centres and clinics. However this is a very costly option.
To avoid all this trouble some people go to the zoo to donate the animals as they are unable to take care of them. I had instances when certain owners callously left their pets at the zoo gate or parking lot. Even worse are those owners who release their pets in parks, the roadside or the foothills of the Hajar range.
As a person working with animals, my suggestion to future owners is they must first decide whether they have time and space to house a pet.
Nobody can take care of your pet like you do.
