It’s A Tent Situation In Fujairah

The largest tent on the East Coast beckons you at Fujairah’s Le Meridien Al Aqah Beach Resort this Ramadan.

Called Layali Al Aqah, the tent will be set up against the backdrop of the majestic Hajar mountains and promises a unique experience to all those dining here.

A host of traditional dishes including delicacies like foul mesdames, balila, fetir and stuffed pies will be served to the guests every day throughout Ramadan between 8pm and 2am.

TV: Witness The World In Motion

The National Geographic Channel will air a documentary on Dubai’s prestigious real estate development, The World - a cluster of over 300 islands in the shape of the world map.

When complete The World will be a collection of private and resort islands that are being sold by invitation only. Forty-five per cent of the islands have already been sold including Thailand, North Canada, Malaysia, Sumatra and Ireland.

The hour-long documentary will be shown in 250 million homes in 34 languages and 166 countries including the USA, Australia, the United Kingdom, Brazil and Spain.

The Glass Act That’s A Class Act

Visitors to the Mercato Mall are being treated to a lively performance by Polish artistes Anna and Arkadiusz Szafraniec these days.

The ‘Glass Duo’ as they are famously called, perform on the glass harp, a distinct but now defunct instrument consisting of glass.

The origin of the glass harp dates back to 12th-century China and also to 14th-century Persia. Even masters such as Mozart and Beethoven composed many original works for the glass harp, but Anna and Arkadiusz say they prefer to play music that’s popular with the crowds.
