It was a year studded with great live concerts. But, a quick scan of the new calendar suggests that the trend will carry on in 2008 as the year promises to bring big acts to the nation.
It all kicks off with the Elton John concert at Emirates Palace hotel in Abu Dhabi on January 22, 2008. The legendary musician is set to enthrall fans in Abu Dhabi where he is performing for the first time. It’s no sacrifice for Dubai, though, as the star has already had a date with the city.
The month of February will see Grammy-winning legend Carlos Santana perform at Dubai Festival City. In his first ever performance in the Middle East, the guitar icon will play on February 15, 2008, as part of the “Live Your Light” tour. Fans can look forward to renditions of hits like Maria Maria and Black Magic Woman.
In yet another titanic performance, multi-platinum Grammy Award winning Celine Dion will play live in Dubai on March 5, 2008. Due to take place at the Four Seasons Golf Club in Dubai Festival City, the gig may features hits such as My Heart Will Go On and I’m Alive.
