Surya Namaskara (sun salutation) was originally designed by ancient yogis according to the phases of the sun.

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a disorder where the body does not produce or use insulin properly. Insulin is the hormone responsible for converting sugar, starch and other foods into energy.

The UAE ranks second in the world in the prevalence of DM cases.

DM may be caused by genetic factors, but at present, an increase in DM cases is the direct result of poor lifestyle and excessive diet.

Children also need some yoga

Dr. Vishwas Chhabra, Yoga Therapist

Children live in a busy world with busy parents, school pressures, incessant lessons, video games, malls and competitive sports. Parents usually don't think of these as stressful for kids, but often they are.

Yoga can help counter the stress and help them navigate life’s challenges with ease.

Yoga helps in self-awareness, bolstering self-esteem and helping children gain control over their bodies and minds. It also teaches self-discipline.

People gain weight because of unhealthy food choices and family habits (such as eating in front of the television instead of around a table), and less active lifestyles. Also, sometimes people eat more than they need due to emotional reasons such as stress and anxiety. All of these contribute to the obesity epidemic.
