Pain in the neck

Dr Vishwas Chhabra

The neck is the most flexible part of the body.

It is also the most common area to experience pain. One of three people suffers from neck pain.

People develop neck disorders because of injuries due to accidents, recurrent minor traumas, bad posture, over-exertion or diseases.

Be careful when working with your neck and shoulders. Move slowly and deliberately.

Forward and backward

  • Inhale. While exhaling, slowly lower your chin to your chest. Hold it for a while, while breathing normally.
  • Again inhale and lift your neck.
  • While exhaling, allow your neck to bend back.
  • Repeat the process three to four times.

Neck turning

  • Inhale, and while exhaling, slowly turn your neck to the right.
  • Hold your posture.
  • Inhale again and while exhaling return to former posture.
  • Repeat the cycle on the right side.
  • Repeat the process three to four times.
