Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board and Executive Director of Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), honoured Rameen Khan Mashad Ali, a cabdriver of Arabia Taxi Company in recognition of his honesty.
Al Tayer hailed the integrity and noble conduct of Rameen Khan, who once found in his car a bag containing 5 kg of unprocessed gold and 4.5 kg of processed gold in addition to $40,000, immediately delivered the items to the company. The company reported the case to Dubai Police and handed over the items to Naif Police Station, where the owner of the lost items, a Chinese businessman, was summoned.
Al Tayer commented on the event and said, “Honesty is one of the key pillars of excellence and good conduct of drivers. It encourages resident and visiting passengers to avail services of Dubai Taxi and taxis of franchise companies operating under the umbrella of Dubai Taxi. RTA is keen to honour excellent drivers in the light of standards governing daily performance, safe driving, honesty, and adherence to rules and regulations set by the RTA, while paying considerable attention to timing and dedication to work.”
“Honoring this driver will motivate other cabdrivers in Dubai Taxi and franchise companies to put sincere efforts to raise the level of passenger satisfaction,” he added.
