Dubai Metro begins trial runXPRESS

Dubai Metro has kicked off its trial run near Jebel Ali station Monday morning.
The technical trial run of Dubai Metro is being conducted on the test track at Jebel Ali, in a sector extending 11 km from Ibn Battuta Station to JAFZA Station.

According to RTA officials, a direct electrical current of 750v will be connected and the train can run at a maximum speed of 90 km per hour on the test track. The train will undergo full tests to monitor noise, wobbling and electromechanical compatibility for early detection of troubles shooting so as to address them before passenger service is provided.

The first batch of Dubai Metro carriages, consisting of ten cars (each train consists of 5 cars), arrived in Dubai in the last week of April and 5 cars were transported to Jebel Ali Metro Station for detailed tests, according to earlier reports.
