Kerry Winter: Missing woman’s car found in JBRBy Awad Mustafa, Staff reporter

Police have found the car of Kerry Winter, a South African woman who went missing two weeks ago in Dubai, her nephew said.
David Giles told XPRESS that the car, a Ford Explorer, was found at the Jumeirah Beach Residence.
"This is what the police told me," Giles told XPRESS, though this could not be independently confirmed.
Kerry had not been seen since August 20, when neighbours spotted her being assaulted with a baseball bat, allegedly by her ex-boyfriend, a Briton currently in police custody.
Search Effort
On Friday, a massive search involving a large number of volunteers will gather at the Mall of the Emirates at 9.30am and fan out from there in an effort to find the 35-year-old events executive, said Kurt Winter, Kerry’s older brother.
"We are hoping that they [volunteers] will turn up because we need to do something," said the brother.
The search area will cover a number of locations including the desert area where she was reportedly left.
On Wednesday, the police denied that a body found in the desert was that of Kerry’s.
The last contact Kerry’s family had with her was on August 25 when a reply to a text message came to them from her phone.
"We received a message in reply which stated that she was fine but a guy in her villa was causing a problem with the landlord. Then when we asked her to call us so we could speak, the reply came that ‘the police are checking my phone, I am unable to call’," said Kurt.
"Then we replied telling her that police are searching for her and so are we and her reply was ‘what do the police know?’ That’s when we got really suspicious and texted her back in Afrikaans and did not get a reply," said Kurt.
Currently the only suspect held in the case is her 42-year-old British ex-boyfriend who reportedly denied the charges but admitted to driving off with her and assaulting her.
